ByteDance just launched Jimeng AI, going after the text-to-video space. With a big domestic company jumping in like this, it basically puts the tool war out in the open. I haven’t seen details yet on how long Jimeng can generate, what resolutions or styles it supports—just jotting this down for now.
ByteDance has always been solid at content tools, distribution and asset ecosystem are their strong suit. This time, the competition with other similar tools probably isn’t just about the model itself, but how smooth the whole creative pipeline is.
Whether it’s actually good or not depends on the real output quality and if there are watermark restrictions or whatever. Anyone already tried it? Compare the same prompt with other tools? I’m planning to give it a shot when I get time.
