Tried out CyberRealistic Anima on Civitai, just jotting down some quick thoughts. It’s a full finetune of Anima, which was originally made by CircleStone Labs, based on NVIDIA’s Cosmos-Predict2-2B, with the text encoder using Qwen3-0.6B.
The original Anima goes for a clean, neutral, anime-first vibe, but this finetune pushes hard in the opposite direction, landing in a semi-realistic zone: skin and faces are more detailed, shadows are heavier, textures are stronger, and the final result has this polished, painterly feel. Good thing it keeps Anima’s original tag and natural language understanding intact, so you don’t have to relearn your prompts.
In terms of positioning, it sits somewhere between semi-realistic and full realistic, leaning more toward the realistic side. The official line says Anima is “anime only,” but in practice, this finetune is way more flexible—it handles anime, semi-realistic, and even slightly realistic stuff. Just a heads-up: if you’re after that hardcore photorealistic look, it might not cut it, and you’ll need to look for a dedicated realistic model.
The author mentioned that the ComfyUI workflow is released separately, and it also runs on Forge Neo. Overall, I really dig this semi-realistic style—it’s more visually interesting than pure 2D anime and avoids the uncanny valley of hard realism.
