Got a client project breathing down my neck, so I’ve been bouncing between DALL-E and Midjourney the past few days. DALL-E’s image generation is solid, but it’s like a black box—you have no clue what’s going on in its head. I threw in “futuristic city at dusk,” and technically the output was flawless, but the whole vibe was gloomy. I wanted something bright and hopeful, and it gave me post-apocalyptic instead. Pissed me off.
Midjourney’s way smoother—you’ve got more control over the composition, and you know how to tweak things. Not saying DALL-E’s bad; it’s got serious chops. But what scares me most with commercial gigs is this unpredictability—when the client wants three revisions, you can’t reason with it. Old-school designers know: a tool that lets you predict the outcome is what makes it productive. Anyway, I’ll probably wrap this job up with MJ.
