A lot of people worry generative AI is gonna make the creative industry all look the same, but I think it’ll split things up instead of converging. The tools are the same, but the skill levels of the users are worlds apart. People who can break down requirements, understand art, and tweak their workflows still produce stuff with its own identity; those who just type in a prompt and wait for surprises end up with stuff that looks like everyone else’s.
It’s like how cameras becoming common didn’t make everyone a photographer—the bar dropped, but the gap between the top and bottom just got wider.
The industry will change, but it won’t get flattened into one mold; it’s a reshuffle where whoever can use the tools to nail their ideas more precisely comes out on top.
