I do foreign trade and constantly need to generate portrait images to go with products. The most annoying thing is that AI always gives you that fake, plastic-smooth face—clients can tell it’s generated at a glance. I came across this UltraReal LoRA for KREA2 that’s supposed to tone down that overly smooth plastic look and add natural skin texture.
It’s especially good for close-ups and mid-shots where skin details matter. The author says it was trained on high-quality 4K images. Another thing I really care about is that it reduces the default bias toward Asian faces, but you can still specify ethnicity with trigger words, like Japanese female, Korean male, etc. In their own tests, they didn’t even include ethnicity in the prompt.
For us making assets for different markets, being able to precisely control ethnicity is key—clients in Western markets don’t want to see models that look too Asian. Just wondering how it handles tricky details like teeth and hair in close-ups. Has anyone actually tried it?
