Saw a post on Sina Finance saying Microsoft dropped their strongest image gen model called MAI-Image-2, headline claims it’s top 3 globally. You know how these “top 3” claims go, take it with a grain of salt—every company that releases a new model says they’re top tier.
What I care about is more practical: Microsoft jumping into image gen themselves probably means they’re gonna shove it into Azure and Copilot. For those of us who need to hook into an API for production, what really matters is stability, rate limits, pricing, and whether it can be deployed privately. Benchmark rankings don’t mean much in the end. No matter how strong a model is, if it keeps messing up or throttles you to death, you’re better off with a second-tier but reliable one.
Anyone already got API access or integrated it into their own products? Mainly want to know about its call stability and rate limiting policies—skip the marketing fluff about rankings.
