If Seedance 2.0 actually crashes the cost of e-commerce video production, I'll be the first one cheering.

That headline from Wall Street CN is pretty bold — saying the Seedance 2.0 shockwave will collapse costs across e-commerce, gaming, and film/TV. I can’t speak for other industries, but in e-commerce, here’s my take.

We make main image videos and detail page shorts. Before, we either shot them in-house or outsourced — one video could cost a few hundred to over a thousand. If AI video generation can really slash those costs, and output fast with easy edits, that’d be a lifesaver for small shops like ours.

Of course, “cost collapse” needs a grain of salt. Cheaper tools mean fiercer competition — everyone can churn out videos, so standing out becomes the real challenge. What I care more about is whether it can handle e-commerce demands: constant revisions and precise control over the visuals. Anyone who’s used it — can it keep product details and text stable right now?

Costs are down, but competition’s gotten way more brutal. Spot on.

Honestly, product details and text are still the weak spots. You gotta keep gacha-style re-rolling over and over.

“Collapse” is just media hype. The actual replacement rate isn’t that fast.
