Yo, anyone tried those free AI image editors? What kinda stuff can you actually trust 'em with without messing up?

Tried out a bunch of free online editors, and my take is it depends on the use case. For stuff like background removal, outpainting, or local erasing, current free tools are pretty solid—especially removing random people and utility poles, the edge handling is way cleaner than two years ago.

But when it comes to face inpainting, hand fixing, or text replacement, the free tier shows its limits—either the finger count is off, or the text on a sign turns into a blurry abstract mess. I usually use free tools for initial screening and rough fixes, but for images I actually need to deliver, I import them into local SD for inpainting, keeping the denoising strength under 0.

3 and slowly tweaking. Anyone else run into free tools quietly dropping resolution or sneaking in watermarks?

The power line removal is way better now, the edges are so much cleaner.

Hand fix on the free tier is a total disaster, the finger count doesn’t match at all.

I’ve also fallen for that sneaky resolution downscaling trick. Exported it and it came out all blurry.

Text replacement turns into a blurry abstract painting lol, it really can’t handle signboard text.

Free initial screening, local SD as a fallback, same workflow as mine.

I’ll keep that in mind—slowly tweaking it with denoising below 0.3.

Some free tools hide watermarks in the corner, and you only notice them when you zoom in.

Nice!
